In-office or at-home teeth whitening
Teeth whitening is an effective method to brighten your smile. Before starting treatment, here are the essential preliminary steps:
Oral examination, cleaning, and scaling: A clean tooth, free of plaque and tartar, will better absorb the whitening agent. A preliminary examination will also allow us to determine the nature of your tooth discoloration and assess whether whitening will meet your expectations.
Checking for contraindications: It is important to consult an oral health professional before undergoing whitening, especially if you suffer from tooth or gum sensitivity, have recently received restorative treatment, or have an oral or gum infection.
Assessing your initial tooth color: To measure the effectiveness of whitening, it is essential to know the starting color of your teeth. This will allow you to compare the results of the treatment with the initial color.
Teeth whitening is not recommended for children under 12, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and ideally for people under 18.
The results of teeth whitening typically last between six months and two years, depending on each person's oral hygiene. Consult a professional to determine the teeth whitening method best suited to your needs and situation.
